Overview

Shimshal is a small valley located far north in Gojal tehsil of district Hunza in Gilgit Baltistan. It is known as the valley of climbers as it has produced some of the strongest climbers in Pakistan. Shimshal Pass (4700 m) is located in the high pasturelands of the mysterious Pamirs and it lies on the waterland between South Asia and Central Asia. If there is one place where you can still experience nature at its purest, it's shimshal valley and Shimshal pass is the hidden treasure of this valley. Qoz Sar (5461 m) is a beautiful peak that welcomes you when you enter the pastures of Shimshal pass. With good accessibility and a non technical climbing route, Qoz Sar is a good mountain to begin your climbing career.
