Darkut Pass Trekking Expedition
Overview
Embark on the Darkot to Darkot Pass trek (4575m), traversing the lateral moraine of the glacier before descending the expansive Darkot Glacier's flat middle. The trek, lasting 3-4 hours, leads to Chikar Yarkhun Valley, offering panoramic views of Granite Peaks and glaciers in every direction. Crossing crevasses and streams, you'll encounter a glaciated ridge, providing an opportunity to explore Zindikharam Glacier and Lalay Rabat at the pinnacle of the Boroghil region. The descent on the Darkot side is steeper, with the morning sun making the glacier slippery (crampons recommended). Following a well-made path on the left bank, zigzag steeply to the bottom of the Yarkhun Valley.
